Meet Community Artists
The Artists’ Alley is a place for AnthrOhio attendees to meet community artists and commission their skills and services. Artists are able to exhibit their work for attendees to peruse at their table spaces.
Artists’ Alley Rules & Guidelines
Interested in applying for the Artists’ Alley? Make sure you’re aware of the following rules and guidelines:
- Each artist must have an Ohio Tax License number. Artists are responsible for reporting and filing their taxes for sales made at AnthrOhio.
- Artists are responsible for all materials needed for setting up, maintaining, and shutting down their space. Each shared table is provided with skirting and two chairs (one for each artist).
- An artist’s display and wares must be kept on, under, or behind their half of the shared table. Any artist encroaching on another’s space without consent will be asked to move their belongings back into their own space.
- Artists may not trade or give their shared table space to another artist. If leaving early for the day or deciding to forfeit your space, please inform Artists’ Alley Staff.
- Displays, banners, wares, and signage must be constrained to your allotted table space. Please do not expect space behind your table to put up standalone signage or banners.
- Artists’ Alley is intended to be a safe, accessible space. You must be
considerate of your neighbors.
- Overly disruptive displays with loud sounds are not allowed.
- Machinery and products that create loud or disruptive noises, or produce strong odors, are not permitted.
- Soaps and perfumes should be packaged so that the smell does not permeate and overwhelm those around you.
- Solvents and damaging chemicals may not be used inside the hotel.
- Speakers are only allowed for items that assist with accessibility needs, such as those who need screen readers.
- If you plan to listen to music or watch videos on your phone while in the Artists’ Alley, you are to use headphones whenever possible.
- Artists may only sell goods and official releases of their own design or that they have permission to distribute. No AI generated, pirated, or copyright-violating materials are allowed to be sold in the AnthrOhio Artists’ Alley.
- Adult artwork and materials may be sold in accordance with Ohio state law.
Any and all NSFW material must follow ALL 4 of AnthrOhio’s following NSFW
Sales Guidelines
- No sales of NSFW material to minors, and minors should not be allowed to access NSFW display material. Artists are welcome to request ID or deny access to NSFW content to any attendee.
- All NSFW display material should be in a folder or binder clearly marked as Adult or 18+, with stickers over genitalia, nipples, or gore on display display material.
- NSFW commissions at AnthrOhio should not be worked on while in the Artists’ Alley or any other public convention space at the venue.
- Any NSFW products that are physically given to a client should have adequate covering (folder, bag, etc.) when sold.
- Physical sales are strictly prohibited outside of designated vendor areas/hours. This does not extend to private commissions placed over social media/private communication during the convention weekend, but you may not solicit these sales or advertise outside vendor spaces.
- Food & Beverage Sales & Consumption
- Alcohol is strictly prohibited in the Artists’ Alley. Anyone found with or suspected of having alcohol in the Artists’ Alley will be asked to leave immediately, and may be escorted out by security.
- All beverages need to have the ability to be fully sealed while in the Alley. Water bottles and other drinks should be stored on the floor or in places where they will not have the ability to spill on anyone’s work or belongings.
- If you have food, drinks, or snacks at your table for your own consumption, you are responsible for disposing of the wrappers/packaging when you are done.
- The sale of food or beverages is not allowed in the AnthrOhio Artists’ Alley.
- Weapon Sales:
- Only replica and cosplay/fursuit prop weapons may be sold in Artists’ Alley.
- Artists are required to notify Artists’ Alley staff prior to the convention if they plan to sell replica or cosplay/fursuit prop weapons.
All artists must abide by all of AnthrOhio’s Code of Conduct and Policies while attending and vending at the convention.
