W.A.G.S. 4 Kids

Founded in 2004, Working Animals Giving Service for Kids is dedicated to providing mobility, autism, and psychiatric service dogs for children throughout 38 northeast and central Ohio counties.

W.A.G.S. 4 Kids empowers children with disabilities by providing expertly trained service dogs specializing in mobility, autism, and psychiatric assistance.

Through the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction’s (ODRC) award-winning, accredited Cell Dog Program, incarcerated individuals at Grafton, Richland, and Mansfield Correctional Institutions train the W.A.G.S. 4 Kids service dogs.

This partnership gives these individuals the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the world by training these dogs while they themselves work toward rehabilitation and transformation. It’s a circle of giving—one that touches the lives of children, families, and individuals looking to turn their lives around.

AnthrOhio has always been an inclusive place for all people. We have chosen to partner with W.A.G.S. 4 Kids due to their dedication to helping children with disabilities reach their full potential. Many furries know that navigating the world as an individual with a disability can be a scary journey, and no one knows better than furries that animals make life better! This is also true for the individuals who train the dogs through ODRC’s Cell Dog Program as they learn a valuable skill and gain opportunities for life outside.

Growing possibilities, one child at a time.

“I am a big believer in the power of purposeful passion. I would hope that this would be a great educational opportunity for what I understand to be an interested community of probably allies, as well as a fundraiser for WAGS 4 Kids. We desperately need funding to continue delivering our mission to the kids who need us. The opportunity to connect with your community and do so in a way that creates awareness and spreading such a positive message is truly rewarding.”
